Lunascape 4.7 new functions
Crash protection functionality
Lunascape 4.7 introduces better crash protection. In this new version of Lunascape, you do not need to terminate your browser in the case of a crash. You only need to close the defective tab. Lunascape 4.7 displays the possible causes in a dialog window, which you can close when you’re ready to continue browsing.
Usability improvement of the Gecko engine
Lunascape supports the two most widely used rendering engines (*1), Gecko (*2) and Trident (*3). In Lunascape 4.7, you can download and install the Gecko engine whenever you wish to start using it. In previous versions, you could only install Gecko during the initial installation process.
*1: Rendering engine - The part of a browser that is responsible for displaying the contents of a web page by interpreting languages such as HTML.
*2: Gecko - Open source browser rendering engine used in Netscape and Mozilla software, which supports HTML, XUL, and JavaScript, etc. In Lunascape 4, you can use the Gecko engine version found in Firefox 2.0.0.11.
*3: Trident - The rendering engine used by Microsoft Internet Explorer.
