Currently there is no linux native browser using trident, and linux users have to run ie6 in wine.

A native version of your browser will be wide open received by linux users (in spite is not open software), so it could easy the access to IE only sites.

Thanks

rah, the reason there is no Linux native browser using Trident is because the Trident/IE engine is proprietary to Microsoft and it only exists in Windows.

This is the same case as Lunascape and all "IE-shell" browsers on Windows. Such browsers' IE rendering mode only uses the existing Trident/IE that is currently installed on the user's Windows computer.

If Lunascape is ported to Linux, it would face the same problem. The Gecko and WebKit engines already exist for Linux, but there is no Linux-based-Trident to display in Trident mode.

I don't suppose you would like to run Lunascape through Wine?

Actually, are there any native multi-rendering-engine browsers for Linux?

I suppose Lunascape can be a WebKit and Gecko Linux browser, but it won't have Trident.
