 Post subject: Question about vulnerability
PostPosted: Sun Aug 23, 2009 9:52 am
By using three rendering engines, would that make Lunascape also vulnerable to exploits targeted at any one of them?

In short, is it three times more vulnerable to malware exploits because it uses three different rendering engines?

Well, that could be true, but likelihood of 3 engines having serious security holes at the same time is very small. Assuming probability of one engine having security hole is 1%, then the probability of 3 engines having security holes at one time is 0.0001%. And please also consider this. When one of the engines gets zero day attack, you get to browse safely by switching to other engines (with all of your familiar Lunascape setting).
We hope this makes you feel better. ;)
